AIDAAS is essentially a broadcast DVB-S (Digital Video Broadcast - Satellite) technology that provides a single platform for broadband and broadcast multimedia services. Using the KU-band spectrum, data is transmitted terrestrially via the Central Station (CS).

The Central Station
The core thrust behind the technology is the Central Station. It is cabled to the Telco's network and has a capacity to transmit and receive data of up to 2 Giga bit per second (Gbps), and within a radius of up to 40km. The Central Station is uniquely designed to overcome rain attenuation and transmit data with less than 1Watt, which makes it environmentally friendlier than existing wireless technologies.

The low transmitting power is in compliance with the standards of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)
The CPE which comprises of an antenna dish and a set top box can receive up to 30 Mbps throughput, which essentially means that the maximum bandwidth or amount of data you can receive is 30 Mbps.

The Set Top Box (STB) can be connected to any IT appliances with a normal network cable; as illustrated below. The STB is designed to have the capability to relay the information back to the Central Station wirelessly.

How It Works

How It Works
  1. The AIDAAS transmitter is connected to the Telcos network, and transmits the data from the internet through the AIDAAS proprietary antenna (2)
  2. The AIDAAS antenna re-transmits the data using the KU-band spectrum terrestrially (or in other words 'wirelessly')
  3. Data is received in your homes/offices via an antenna dish which also reverts the data back to the telco's network
  4. The dish is connected to the set-up box, which is wired to your appliances (5)
